Our Funding

Northumbria Blood Bikes depends entirely on charitable donations to provide its free service to our local NHS healthcare sites and Great North Air Ambulance Service.  We receive no public funding from the government of the NHS and we are responsible for raising all of our own funds.  None of our volunteers receive payment, or expenses, for the time they give, so all of the money we raise is spent providing and maintaining our vehicle fleet and support services that enable us to operate as an on-line community (we have no premises of our own.)

These page explains a variety of ways (some of which are free to you) in which you could help us cover our running costs and continue to help improve the healthcare, and sometimes save the life, of people in the North East..

For individuals looking for ways to help us raise funds we have a number of suggestions (some of them free to you) on this page

If you taking part in a sponsored event on behalf of Northumbria Blood Bikes we have tools to help you raise money
