Our Funding
Northumbria Blood Bikes depends entirely on charitable donations to provide its free service to our local NHS healthcare sites and Great North Air Ambulance Service. We receive no public funding from the government of the NHS and we are responsible for raising all of our own funds. None of our volunteers receive payment, or expenses, for the time they give, so all of the money we raise is spent providing and maintaining our vehicle fleet and support services that enable us to operate as an on-line community (we have no premises of our own.)
This page explains a variety of ways (some of which are free to you) in which you could help us cover our running costs and continue to help improve the healthcare, and sometimes save the life, of people in the North East..
Single or Recurring Cash Donation
Perhaps the simplest way to help is to make a cash donation. You can make a one-off, or regular, recurring donation through our fundraising partner - Give as You Live
If you choose to help us in this way, and you are a UK taxpayer, you can boost the value of your donation by selecting 'gift aid' for your online donations. This boosts the amount we receive (by reclaiming money from the Tax Man) at no extra cost to you.
