This week the staff at Bebside Inn proudly presented us with a cheque for £3,286 from their ‘Easter at the Bebby’ fundraising weekend. Our sincerest thanks to them all for their hard work and to everyone who donated.
It was also a lovely opportunity to get some more photographs of the ‘Bebby’ bike purchased through the funds they have raised by supporting our charity over the years.

Today Mark from Shropshire • Staffordshire • Cheshire Blood Bikes picked up 1x FMT samples from Birmingham Medical School and took them to Barlborough Services where they we handed over to Ann from Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes. They were then transported up to Scotch Corner Services where our volunteer driver Clive was waiting to collect before being delivered to Sunderland Royal Hospital.
All completed completely free of charge for the NHS by Blood Bike volunteers.

New to our range of merchandise is our charity branded multifunctional snood. Of course being in the north east with two rather popular football teams we have them available in both black or red. They will be available at the events we’re attending for £10.00 each.
A DEDICATED band of motor bikers, spearheading a vital out-of-hours service delivering vital blood and medical supplies to the region’s hospitals, healthcare sites and the Great North Air Ambulance, have themselves received an important gift – a donation of £1,000.
The cash, from Durham City’s Freemen, will help meet the running costs of the Northumbrian Blood Bikes regional fleet of a dozen bikes and eight cars which burn up more than £7,500 worth of fuel annually and face a £26,000 insurance bill.
We are very thankful and proud of each of our volunteers for the time they give to our charity. Every three months we have the honour to present our volunteers with recognition awards for achieving milestone shift totals.
Last night we awarded Andrew and Simon their ‘Bronze Award’ for completing 25 shifts, Simon and Simon their ‘Silver Award’ for completing 50 shifts, Simon his ‘Gold Award’ for completing 100 shifts and Allan and Paul their ‘Gold/Red Award’ for completing 200 shifts.

Andrew joined Northumbria Blood Bikes as a volunteer following his youngest son’s open heart surgery 8 years ago. During the operation his son received a significant blood transfusion which was made possible through the support of Northumbria Blood Bikes.
Andrew’s reason for volunteering with our charity was featured on BBC One’s Morning Live on Thursday 6th March.
Chad joined Northumbria Blood Bikes when he found myself sitting in NSECH hospital, in Cramlington, for end of life care with his Dad. Every evening he heard motorbikes pulling up below the window, outside the Pathology lab entrance. He found out that it was Northumbria Blood Bikes delivering notes.
